Hey Valley Boys, Remember ChaCha?
If you’ve been reading my blog for long, you’d know that my opinion of ChaCha has had ups and downs. ChaCha is now a client (there’s my disclosure) so I’ve been taking a deeper look… and it’s looking good.
Don’t take my word for it!
The entire tech community, including the insiders at TechCrunch (the guys that love to hate ChaCha) and Mashable (echo… echo… ) have been blind to the fact that, in the last 4 months, ChaCha has been kicking the oppositions’ asses and clawing its way back into relevance.
Perhaps the Valley Boys need to shift their loving gaze away from Twitter for just a minute or two to look to the Midwest.
Here’s what you missed… ChaCha has broken out into a stride and has quietly entered Alexa’s largest 500 websites in the United States. Compete shows 575% growth. And Quantcast? How’s this for growth?
So how about it Silicon boys? Let’s hear some news for Silicorn Valley… ChaCha is the comeback kid for 2009. More people than ever are finding the answers they need by checking ChaCha.com or texting questions to 242242.
The company has gone through some major changes of late. Good friend, Blake Methany, prior VP of Technology (responsible for the unbeatable enterprise blogging infrastructure) at Compendium, is now at the helm of the Technology and Operations teams at ChaCha.
Blake mentioned that there have been some difficult personnel changes and rapid and agile improvements to the engineering processes internally. The disruption is working and has broken loose mass adoption, and in turn, some revenue models that are making ChaCha look very impressive.
I’m looking forward to working with the team at ChaCha through 2010 to assist the company takes it to levels yet unseen by any company in the space.
Mahalo for taking notice. 😉
