Confident Technologies Advances CAPTCHA

I hate Captcha technologies. Captcha is the antithesis of usability. Rather than making it easy for users, the technology purposely interrupts users so it can thwart hacking scripts. Not to mention that CAPTCHA is bypassed by newer crowdsourcing and OCR technologies.

CAPTCHA: Completely Automated Public Turing Test to Tell Computers and Humans Apart

Thankfully, someone else thinks it’s terrible as well. Confident Technologies have invented a new means of authenticating users while blocking hacking scripts called Confident CAPTCHA.

Confident CAPTCHA™ is a clickable, picture CAPTCHA that stops spam and bots on websites by asking visitors to click on specific pictures. Confident CAPTCHA is a better alternative to CAPTCHA – stops spam and bots on blogs, web forms, account registrations, ticketing sites and more, ending user frustration, reducing website abandonment, and increasing conversion rates.

Confident CAPTCHA™ is ideal for mobile websites and mobile devices including smartphones and tablets. Plugins are available for PHP, Java, ASP.NET, Python, WordPress, Drupal and Joomla. The service can be deployed using their Software as a Service (SaaS) or through the purchase of a virtual appliance. It can also be white labeled as a component within other enterprise solutions.

This is a very good post! Thank you so much for sharing this one. Sometimes I find captcha very annoying and I until now I am still confused about its main purpose but I guess this confident captcha is a better one. Good job!

CAPTCHA is an incredibly annoying piece of technology and it is also inaccessible to a lot of people. I am dyslexic and they are almost impossible for me to read, so much so that I started using CAPTCHA bypass browser extension software called RUMOLA to read and fill them in for me. Clicking on a picture would just be so much more user friendly especially on mobile platforms!
