While you manage the registration of a domain at a domain registrar, it's not always a great idea to manage where and how your domain resolves all of its other DNS entries to resolve your email, subdomains, host, etc. Your domain registrars' primary business is selling domains, not ensuring that your domain can resolve quickly, managed easily, and has redundancy built-in.

How does DNS Work?
Let's provide examples of my own site configuration.
- A user requests martech.zone in the browser. That request goes to a DNS server which provides the path to where that http request is maintained… in a name server. Then the name server is queried and my site's host is provided using an A or CNAME record. Then the request is made to my site's host and a path is provided back that's resolved to the browser.
- A user emails martech.zone in the browser. That request goes to a DNS server which provides the path to where that mail request is maintained… in a name server. Then the name server is queried and my email hosting provider is provided using a MX record. Then the email is sent to my email hosting company and routed properly to my inbox.
