The Cost of Facebook Marketing
As this infographic shows, more and more marketers are spending more time and relying on Facebook as a portion of their Marketing efforts. In my opinion there are 3 key strategies to Facebook marketing:
- Facebook advertising
- Facebook apps (including Fcommerce)
- Facebook engagement
The majority of marketers are simply taking advantage of the large audience that Facebook has to offer by trying to engage with them through their Facebook wall. However, more and more companies are looking to Facebook apps to drive an increase in conversions… either within Facebook or back to their site. Now that applications can be easily developed (basically a little bit of code around an iframe), more and more companies are doing a great job of introducing great applications. As well, if you can keep the user within Facebook and have them convert, the rates have proven much better.
Last is Facebook advertising… which can be used to drive more people to your Facebook page or out to an external site. The cost of those ads isn’t that high, especially when you see all of the information you can target. Basically, every aspect of a personal profile can be targeted with a Facebook advertisement. We recently pushed a campaign directly to employees of a specific company!
