The Impact of Going Global with Your Mobile App

With 7,000 languages in the world and growth internationally for mobile applications, you’re most likely selling yourself short if you go to market with an app that doesn’t support localization… er localisation. Interestingly enough, Mobile apps that support English, Spanish, and Mandarin Chinese, can reach half the globe

It’s important to note that 72% of app users are not native English speakers! App Annie found when a mobile app was optimized for international markets, it resulted in 120% more revenue and 26% more downloads overall. That’s a nice return on investment for incorporating the ability to localize and support different languages from the start.

This infographic from Translate by Humans recommends that companies research countries where their app would be competitive, culturally accepted, and priced well for the audience. The infographic has some great advice for marketing your mobile app regionally as well via search and social channels since some of the marketplaces aren’t accessible.
