DK New Media recently signed on with Searchmetrics and we’re now promoting their suite as an affiliate here on the MarTech Blog. A key reason is that they’re one of the few SEO tools that is focusing as much attention on social impact and ranking as other traditional SEO factors.
What do web pages that are well-positioned by Google have in common and what distinguishes them from lower ranking pages? Searchmetrics examined 300,000 URLs appearing in the top search result positions for the presence and extent of certain properties. The results are displayed in terms of how these properties (factors) correlate with Google rankings (using Spearman’s rank correlation coefficient).
This report is both comprehensive and doesn’t misrepresent the data (causation versus correlation) as many professional search engine optimization companies and professionals do. The key takeaway for us is the impact of standard search practices combined with social sharing…. wow!
