Why Your Business Must Go Social
It’s no secret that social media marketing is everywhere. We see the familiar Twitter and Facebook icons on our TV screens and in our emails. We read about it online and in the newspaper.
Unlike other more traditional forms of marketing, social media marketing is as accessible to small business owners as it is to Fortune 500 companies. The folks at Wix have put together an infographic illustrating the impact of social media on your business. Here are the highlights:
- 80% of Americans or 245 million people use at lease one social network. Tweet This
- 53% of people active on social networks follow at least one brand. Tweet This
- 48% of small businesses and entrepreneurs boosted sales using social media. Tweet This
- 58% of small businesses decreased marketing costs by using social media. Tweet This
- Facebook users share 4 billion items every day. Tweet This
Thanks to the entire Marketing Tech Blog team; it’ a blast to work with all of you. Looking forward to many more posts.
Great infograph. I liked the style of it. Kep up the good work.
@nelsonta:disqus , Thanks for the kind words!
Wow. Social media is growing every day. I wonder if the growth bubble will ever burst.
@twitter-100637060:disqus , you bring up a great point of discussion. However, I don’t think it’s an if, but a when. All great technologies and trends get surpassed by the next “latest and greatest”. The question is when is it going to happen?
I couldn’t agree with you more on this infographic on why businesses must go social. It’s not just a going trend. Social media is here to stay. Aside from more opportunity to engage with a bigger audience, it provides an inexpensive alternative to traditional marketing activities.
@twitter-302771660:disqus Thank for your comment and enthusiasm! Being an inexpensive alternative to traditional marketing makes social media a whole new frontier in marketing. Where in the past most companies, especially small businesses, could have never participated in TV or radio ads, social media and blogs are an open playing field.
