Mailchimp: All-In-One Site, E-Commerce, Marketing, Automation, And Email Marketing Platform

Today, Mailchimp is a formidable marketing platform and email service provider (ESP) that’s simply hard to beat. Years ago, I was running our newsletters off of Mailchimp but left the platform when my account was disabled for a spam complaint – with a list that was grown purely organically and used Mailchimp’s double opt-in. At the time, the platform was also somewhat limited and was getting quite expensive with the number of subscribers Martech Zone had.

While I moved our email, we’ve always had a client or two that used Mailchimp for their email sends. Over the years, I’ve watched the platform significantly expand its features, keep its pricing fairly static, and haven’t seen any of the deliverability issues with any of our clients. My firm, Highbridge, is a Mailchimp partner and we continue to work with clients to integrate, design, build, execute, and automate campaigns with the platform.

Mailchimp Platform

Whether you’re wishing to send transactional emails, create e-commerce-related automations, build journeys, or send newsletters, Mailchimp has virtually every feature you’d ever need when it comes to email marketing. It’s also expanded other offerings with a website builder, e-commerce, marketing CRM, social media publishing, digital ads, and landing pages.

Features include:

  • Websites – Easily create, customize, and promote a stunning website or e-commerce store for free that’s search engine ready. You can even include appointment scheduling for your business. All you need to start is a domain name and you can even add Google Workspace.
  • Audience Management – Signup forms, marketing CRM, audience dashboard, contact profiles, segmentation, behavioral targeting, predicted demographics, predictive commerce insights, and tags. There’s even a business card scanner.
  • Creative Tools – Content studio, an AI-powered creative assistant, dynamic content (including geolocation), subject line helper, surveys, and over 100 pre-designed email and landing page templates.
  • Marketing Automation – Design personalized customer journeys with conditional logic and branching points. You can also synchronize external systems or e-commerce store data.
  • Integrations – Over 300 integrations including Quickbooks Online, Salesforce, Pipedrive, Kommo, Canva, WooCommerce, and more
  • Insights and Analytics – Sales and campaign performance reports, personalized recommendations, A/B testing, surveys, and personalized suggestions from a content optimizer.

Ultimately, it’s getting to know our customer. Mailchimp’s tools and platform allow us to get closer and understand what they want.
