nRelate Increased Pages Per Visit by 9.6%.

We’ve had some massive growth on the MarTech Blog the last few months. Folks have asked us what the tricks are and they’re haven’t been any. It’s been a ton of hard work, making our content a priority each and every day. We’ve written better, written more often, shared on a diverse amount of topics, and promoted the content much more effectively – especially via social networks.

In fact, search dominated as the #1 source of this site until a few months ago. I used to spend hours and hours tweaking the site and promoting it to get a few inches. Once I applied that same effort to improved content and social promotion, those inches turned into yards. November will be our best month ever… and we’ll exceed over 100,000 visits!

One tweak we did do that has helped is ditching our old related content plugin for a new one from nRelate. nRelate doesn’t rely on WordPress’ search algorithms – they actually crawl your site and index the content themselves. And they display the content in a nice collection of images across the page.

I’ve been adamant with a few of our clients that including images in their posts will increase the on-page engagement. This plugin proves my point. Pages per visited are up 9.6% since installing the plugin. Granted their may be some other factors included, but I’m not confident that any of the other tactics we deployed were totally focused at increasing the number of pages visited.

It’s pretty simple folks… people are attracted to imagery, not text!
