We recently had a webinar on the science of storytelling with our friends at Cantaloupe.tv. It’s not new to sales and marketing, but for some reason, storytelling has really only begun to take notice in recent years. Consumers and business buyers have always converted easier when there’s an emotional tie between themselves and the brands they love… but it’s interesting how old, scripted and terrible media continues to plague us on television and the web.
Here’s a fascinating infographic from KISSmetrics on color and its impact on purchasing decisions. Keeping this in mind, Nick’s recent post on utilizing cookies to provide a different experience to a visitor rather than a customer could come in handy… perhaps your site could change stylesheets and move from a black layout (impulse) to a pink layout… or if you’re running a special, a blue layout!
Today I was introduced to Cantaloupe TV by one of the Jo DiGregory, one of the founding partners. The story behind Cantaloupe is a compelling one and it’s worth taking a look at. The team at Cantaloupe has their own take on what they are trying to achieve, but I would liken it to video replicating the blogging phenomenon. Cantaloupe isn’t video that’s built on a fancy user interface or awesome video mixing and effects.
