We touched base with an old client today who hasn’t worked with us in the last year. A year ago, many companies were utilizing our resources because we were ahead of the curve on search optimization strategies. Now, I believe we’re pushing our clients further down the road to rich content strategies and marketing automation. It winds up, we’re on the right track. According to Oracle Eloqua, technology, email marketing, speed and rich content are the driving forces behind the most impactful marketing strategies currently deployed online.

Email is considered to be the most important digital marketing activity and the need for speed and relevance are the greatest challenges, according to Oracle Eloqua’s report, Defining the Modern Marketer: From Real to Ideal. The report highlights several key areas on which marketing decision-makers need to focus – and a surprising lack of ego on the part of Modern Marketers themselves. Yes but sometimes when a marketer is strapped for cash they have to forgo traditionally long term tactics and just promote for pure cash…

I’ve been in this situation and frankly it just wasn’T the time for considering the future benefits of list building. But once the universe got restored back to order so did the list building 🙂

@MarketSecrets:disqus I would still push an email subscription. If you’re paying for short-term tactics and getting folks to your site… why not offer a subscription for those who ‘may’ be interested but just not ready to buy yet? This will maximize your short-term investment and allow you to push additional messaging to those subscribers down the road.
