I’m not sure when Heat designed this inforgraphic, but it’s so good that I had to share it. The reason why it’s good is because it’s an honest look and comparison of how marketing professionals utilize social media versus the average, non-marketing person. I don’t believe enough leaders in this industry paint an honest picture of social media usage. Many of them remind me of the get rick quick sheisters out there.
We have to reset expectations with virtually every client on what their use and following will look like in social media. Unless they have a rock star team that’s at every event and publishing non-stop valuable content, they simply aren’t going to have the same results as someone like us who do this for a living. Perhaps it’s why content marketing has returned to take the crown in marketing activities by companies and individuals – with social media providing great promotion.
