MEP

A program run by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) to provide assistance to small and medium-sized manufacturers in the United States. The program is designed to help manufacturers improve their competitiveness and increase productivity by providing access to technical assistance, training, and other resources.

The Manufacturing Extension Partnership program partners with state-based organizations known as Manufacturing Extension Partnerships (MEP Centers) across the US. These centers provide services such as:

The MEP program’s goal is to help small and medium-sized manufacturers in the US to create jobs, increase profits and save time and money. The program is funded by the federal government and also receives funding from state and local government and private sector partners. The program’s approach is to offer services tailored to specific regional, industry or company needs and make sure that the services provided align with national and regional priorities.
