SSAI

SSAI is the acronym for Server-Side Ad Insertion.

Server-Side Ad Insertion

A process in which ads are inserted into video content by a server before the content is delivered to the viewer’s device. This is different from client-side ad insertion (CSAI), where ads are inserted by the viewer’s device after the video content has been downloaded.

With SSAI, the ad insertion process happens on the server side, which allows for more control over the ad delivery and better ad targeting. SSAI also enables seamless ad transitions, which can improve the viewer’s experience by minimizing buffering and reducing latency.

SSAI is commonly used in over-the-top (OTT) streaming services, such as connected TV and video-on-demand platforms, as well as in live streaming events.
