SSS

SSS is the acronym for Secure Software Standard.

Secure Software Standard

One of the two key components of the Software Security Framework (SSFis a modern set of standards introduced by the Payment Card Industry Security Standards Council (PCI SSC).

The Secure Software Standard ensures that software used in payment processing meets critical security requirements. These requirements include strong authentication, secure encryption, and robust access controls, among other security features. The goal of the SSS is to ensure that payment software is secure not only when it’s developed but throughout its lifecycle.

This standard is particularly relevant to vendors who sell, distribute, or license payment software to third parties, and it applies to software installed on customer systems or deployed over the internet.

For a complete set of security objectives, vendors must comply with these standards to protect their payment software from emerging threats.
