Power of Introverts

We are thrilled to announce that we had the opportunity to speak with Susan Cain, the author of Quiet: The Power of Introverts. Susan provided some very insightful answers to the differences between extroverts and introverts, as well as how this dynamic affects the way we work, communicate, and live.

Susan gave a TED talk this March, discussing some of her personal experiences as an introvert and how people respond to it. In our culture, many people are unaware that a third to a half of the population are introverts. Furthermore, it is greatly misunderstood. Introversion is primarily about how people respond to stimulation, specifically social stimulation. Extroverts

generate a lot of “noise” and stimulation in response to social situations, while introverts digest and observe. In a very aggressive and dominant American culture, you can see how it is easy for there to be a bias towards introverts.
