CSRB
CSRB is the acronym for Cyber Safety Review Board.

Cyber Safety Review Board
An independent advisory board established by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) in February 2022. The CSRB was created in response to the growing number and severity of cybersecurity incidents affecting the public and private sectors. The primary objectives of the CSRB are to:
- Investigate and review significant cybersecurity incidents: The board thoroughly reviews major cyber incidents to identify key lessons learned, security practice gaps, and improvement areas.
- Develop recommendations: Based on their findings, the CSRB provides strategic recommendations to enhance cybersecurity practices, policies, and incident response capabilities across the public and private sectors.
- Foster collaboration: The board brings together experts from various fields, including cybersecurity, industry, academia, and government, to facilitate collaboration and information sharing to improve overall cybersecurity resilience.
- Provide transparency: The CSRB aims to provide transparency about significant cyber incidents and share insights with the public to raise awareness and promote best practices.
The CSRB is modeled after the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB), which investigates significant transportation accidents and develops recommendations to improve safety. The CSRB operates with a similar mandate, focusing on cybersecurity incidents instead of transportation accidents.
The board comprises 15 members appointed by the Secretary of Homeland Security, representing a diverse range of expertise and backgrounds. The CSRB’s findings and recommendations are intended to help organizations across various sectors better prepare for, respond to, and recover from major cybersecurity incidents.
