Open Compute Project

An organization that aims to develop and promote open and scalable data center technologies. It was initiated by Facebook in 2011 with the goal of making data centers more efficient and scalable.

In the context of open systems, OCP focuses on creating open-source hardware designs and standards for data center components such as servers, storage, and networking equipment. The goal of OCP is to drive innovation and increase interoperability in the data center industry by promoting the use of open, industry-standard technologies.

The OCP community, made up of hardware and software vendors, end-users, and other stakeholders, collaborates to define specifications and standards for data center components, and to encourage the adoption of these standards in the industry. By using open hardware and software technologies, data centers can be more flexible, scalable, and cost-effective.
