RDS
RDS is the acronym for Amazon Relational Database Services.

Amazon Relational Database Services
An AWS that makes it easy to set up, operate, and scale a relational database in the cloud. RDS supports several types of databases such as MySQL, MariaDB, PostgreSQL, Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, and more.
With RDS, you can set up and operate a relational database in the cloud without having to worry about the underlying infrastructure and management tasks such as patching, backups, software scaling and more. RDS manages the underlying infrastructure and automatically performs tasks such as backups, software patching, and scaling storage.
RDS provides different options for deploying your database, for example you can use single-AZ (Availability Zone) deployment or multi-AZ deployment for high availability, or use read replicas to offload read traffic from the master DB instance. You can also choose between different instance types and storage types to match the performance and storage requirements of your database.
RDS also includes a variety of features that can be used to manage and optimize your relational databases, such as automatic backups, point-in-time recovery, and monitoring and performance metrics. Additionally, you can create and manage read replicas to improve performance and scale out read traffic.
RDS is widely used by organizations of all sizes, across all industries, as it allows to easily set up and operate a relational database in the cloud, which is scalable and cost-effective, and allows to offload many of the operational tasks associated with managing a database to AWS.
