ITU-D

ITU-D is the acronym for International Telecommunication Union Development Sector.

International Telecommunication Union Development Sector

One of the three sectors of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), along with ITU-T (Telecommunication Standardization Sector) and ITU-R (Radiocommunication Sector).

ITU-D promotes and facilitates information and communication technologies (ICTs) for socio-economic development, particularly in developing countries. This sector works on various initiatives, projects, and policies to bridge the digital divide, improve access to ICTs, and build ICT infrastructure in underserved regions. It also assists and supports countries in developing their ICT sectors and leveraging technology for development purposes.

While ITU-D’s primary mission is related to development and digital inclusion, its work can indirectly affect sales, marketing, and online technology, especially in expanding ICT access and usage in developing markets.
