Hypertext Transport Protocol

When you type a URL into your browser, this initiates an HTTP command to the web server, instructing it to fetch and transmit the requested web page.

A complete document is reconstructed from the different sub-documents fetched, such as text, layout descriptions, images, videos, scripts, and more.
