HD

HD is the Acronym for High Definition

A term used to describe video and audio with a higher resolution than standard definition (SD). HD video has a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, while standard-definition video has a resolution of 720 x 480 pixels. HD audio has a sampling rate of 48 kHz, while standard definition audio has a sampling rate of 24 kHz.

HD video and audio offer many advantages over standard definition. They provide a sharper image and clearer sound, which can make a big difference in the overall viewing experience. HD video is also becoming increasingly popular as most people have shifted to HDTVs.

HD is now available on HD DVDs or Blu-ray discs, or via HD streaming services like Netflix or Hulu Plus. Consumers can also watch HD content on some cable and satellite TV channels.
