I had been on the lookout for quite some time for a plugin that would display the total and individual impact of our articles in social media. Numbers matter… they’re an indicator of trust, authority and popularity. If you have an article that has a lot of shares, folks are more likely to read that article – and are more likely to share it.
Enter Flare. Social sharing is important, and creating an elegant solution to it is what Flare is all about. Perfect for blogs, news sites and anyone with content that should be shared, Flare is the social sharing app we wished we always had.
Flare is a very well-written WordPress plugin that displays an elegant social sharing bar. Flare brings a minimal and unobtrusive design to sharing while still being effective at driving shares and followers. Flare responds to the reader and moves with the user as they move through the content. Flare can be configured to meet your objectives and audience preferences.
Flare is currently in beta and you can download and install it on WordPress at no cost. The folks who developed Flare did an outstanding job at keeping the social bar fast – and then pushing back the saved data as post meta data within your WordPress install. We were able to identify the variables and actually integrate them directly into our index and category pages – providing a nice indicator of the article’s popularity.
As of this post, there are only 34 slots left to buy Flare for $79 – that’s $100 off the 1-year subscription of Flare once it’s out of beta and the authors update it with additional features!
Great post Doug! Thanks for sharing a very wonderful tip…
You bet! And I just saw a sneak peak of their new system which is platform agnostic…. cool stuff!
Yeah! I read about platform agnostic and was really impress about the platform itself can shape how a transmedia story is told!
