Awardzee: How to Find Awards Online
Public relations companies are always on the lookout to build awareness and gain notoriety for their clients. One great strategy is to award submissions. Awards have several advantages over your average client pitch:
- Awards provide great news fodder for PR professionals to pitch news and properties.
- Award sites and shows are often frequented by highly relevant audiences, widening your reach.
- Award sites often use judges that are highly influential, so getting your brand in front of them is fantastic.
- Awards are trust and authority indicators that you can share and promote on your own site and social channels.
The problem, of course, is trying to find award opportunities before you read about your competitor’s victory in the local newspaper or online trade publication. Enter Awardzee, a comprehensive database of awards online.
A few years ago while working in PR, I was tasked with finding some clients company awards. It was a terrible task to have to Google best company awards for hours and hours… and hours and hours. So a few months ago, my good friend and I started a database to make this process much easier. Whether you’re in marketing, PR, a business owner, communications, HR – we hope this site will make your life a bit easier. Nick Pennebaker, Co-founder
Awardzee allows you to do a text search of the awards as well as filter by region and category. A link to the award, the organization, and the category and region are provided in the results.
If I had one wish, it would also be to have the running date range of the award – it would be great to only see the awards that were available for submission in the next 30 days rather than seeing every award out there. But hey – this is one heck of a great start. Thanks to Nick for the hard work!
